  • Tom & Chloe 🐾

We brought our 10 year old English Bull Terrier to the clinic for a couple of problems with her canines and gums. Dr Ribka did a fantastic job on Khloe and we are more than pleased with the outcome. Would recommend the clinic very highly.

  • Nick & Cooper 🐾

We are lucky to be recommended to GS dental because I don’t know if anyone else would have been able to help, since this was a rare situation. I 100000% believe in this clinic and I recommend taking your pets to Dr Ribka. The entire staff made us feel welcome and cared for, which is a rarity these days.

  • Erin & Toulouse 🐾

I cannot recommend or thank Dr. Ribka and her staff enough for all they have done for my cat & I! If your animal has a condition that requires a dental specialist, there is no better option than Gulf South.

Client FAQs

  • We start with a consultation appointment. The cost is $175, it consists of an oral & physical exam with the pet awake. The doctor will go over options & recommendations, as well as your concerns & questions. We then tailor an estimate based on the exam & go over it with you. We then move forward in making a procedure appointment accordingly.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to give estimates over the phone (this mainly applies to someone who is shopping around; it does not apply to clients who make a same-day consult & procedure). We respectfully explain that we tailor our estimates to each individual patient/case based on their specific needs; their anesthetic protocol, how many x-rays we need to take, how long the pet is under anesthesia, etc. No two animals are the same. Apologize & explain that we can’t give quotes over the phone, but if they come in for a consult, we can provide an estimate based on the doctor’s findings during their physical exam. You may tell them that our procedures start at ~$1500, which includes getting them put under anesthesia (monitoring, IV fluids, etc), a more thorough oral exam, full mouth x-rays, and a cleaning.

  • We have many payment options to suit your needs. We don’t accept pet insurance but we do take:

  • You will come in at your scheduled time. We have you wait in the hospital for the first 45-60 minutes, while we put your pet under anesthesia, perform a thorough oral exam, & take the necessary x-rays.

There is almost always something else we find that we didn’t see during the consult, which is why we have you wait onsite. At that time, you are welcome to come into the OR (although not necessary) to discuss the doctor’s findings.

We will then make a new, more complete estimate (there will still be a variance). You will sign the new estimate & go about their day. We will call when the procedure is done & the pet is waking up, with a time to pick up. The pet goes home the same day.

Our procedures from start to walking out the door may take anywhere from 4-6 hours.

  • No. It’s physically impossible to take dental x-rays while an animal is awake. We also do not put them under just to take x-rays. We take x-rays & do the needed work under one anesthetic procedure.
